The season-opening event will focus on comedy and chaos.

If laughter is contagious, Dover Little Theatre will hand the town its first outbreak of the season with “A Night of One Acts.” The community stage kicks off its 93rd season at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27, with a fast-paced collection of plays that prove comedy can be found anywhere— from a bar mitzvah drag show to a safari gone spectacularly wrong.
The show, which will feature eight 10-15-minute stagings, will run just under two hours.
The program features eight works by contemporary playwrights,
Broken Vessel by Domenick Scudera: Two drag queens confront old wounds before taking the stage at a bar mitzvah.
Charlie by Beth Polski: At an airport, a robot meets its match — and it’s not with the security.
Dinner with the Parents by Julieto Quinteros Amat: A bilingual family meal spirals into chaos as a mother’s expectations collide with a dad in his recliner and a boyfriend trying to keep the peace.
First Draft Second Rate Love Story by John Busser: A playwright loses the plot — and the actors — in a rehearsal gone completely off-script.
Late-Life Safari by Lisa Marciano: Divorce becomes a family adventure in Africa — until the lions start circling.
Thank You, Ali Brunswick by Gabriella Palminteri: College roommates decode romance and parental headaches with the guidance of a Spotify playlist.
What Goes Up Must Come Down by Lisa Marciano: Two urban birds navigate love, life, and literal flight paths, proving chaos comes in feathers, too.
Who Didn’t Dunnit by Tom Miscuraca: A stormy mansion sets the stage for blackmail, but the guests have a few tricks of their own.
Tickets are $15, and all proceeds, along with donations, help keep the Dover Little Theatre running. Don’t miss out on a night of laughs, chaos, and cleverly crafted short plays!
