By Joe Wohlgemuth Dover Little Theatre’s production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical scored multiple nominations for the 2025 BroadwayWorld.com New Jersey Awards. In addition, DLT’s production of Misery scored a few nominations in the drama categories. The Lightning Thief, based on the popular Percy Jackson book series by Rick Riordan, earned over a dozen awards, including Best Musical, Best Ensemble, and Best Theatre for Young Audiences Production.

Felicia Artrip is nominated for Best Direction of a Musical, and Rylee Covert was recognized for Best Choreography of a Play or Musical. DLT Board President Larry Pelham nabbed two nominations for Best Scenic Design of a Play or Musical and Best Lighting Design of a Play or Musical. Julieta Quinteros Amant received a nod for Best Sound Design of a Play or Musical. The trio of lead performers – Care Granholm as Percy, Forest Winegar as Grover, and Bailey Delahanty as Annabeth – were all nominated for Best Performer in a Musical. Destiny Covert and Ren Bailey also picked up nominations for Best Supporting Performer in a Musical. Not to be left out in the cold, the cast and crew of Misery have something to be cheerful about, as they were nominated for Best Play and Angel Fajardo received a nomination for Best Direction of a Play. However, the cherry on the cake of nominations is DLT being recognized as Favorite Local Theatre.

The awards are fan-based, with BroadwayWorld.com users nominating and voting for their favorite local productions. The winners of the 2025 BroadwayWorld New Jersey Awards will be announced this month.
