U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill beat Jack Ciattarelli to become the Governor-elect of New Jersey.

As of 11 p.m, Morris County's unofficial totals showed U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill capturing 50.35 percent (95,392) of votes. Her challenger, Jack Ciattarelli, garnered 49.14 percent (93,100 votes).

Across the state, with 86 percent of the votes counted, Sherrill earned 56.2 percent of votes; Ciattarelli got 43.2 percent.
