The Orchard Street Gatehouse Historical Association received nearly $270,000 in grants from the Morris County Board of County Commissioners.

The grants will go towards the Orchard Street Cemetery’s 1875 gatehouse, which is crumbling. Specifically, for the first phase of exterior restoration ($217,360), architectural and construction documents for stages two and three ($52,560).  There is, however, a catch: The project's total cost is $338,000, and the association has to raise $68,000 on its own to receive the $270,000. The association has raised nearly $8,000. To donate, go to the association’s GoFundMe page.

Formed in 2019, the Orchard Street Gatehouse Historical Association assists the Dover Cemetery Association in preserving and restoring the Orchard Street Cemetery.
