“Art is the highest expression of the human spirit.” From the spoken, sung, or written word to ceramics to chalk on a sidewalk to capturing a moment on film—or anything that captures the imagination of the creator or audience—this quote from author Joyce Carol Oates delivers the essence of the creative experience.
For the fourth straight year, Dover Art Week will celebrate every flavor of expression all over town from Sunday, July 26 to Saturday, Aug. 1. The events will be open to artists of every age, level of expertise, and chosen medium.
Walter F. Rodriguez, executive director of The Amp, the new arts, education, and entertainment space in the Richards Building, has been involved with Dover Art Week since its inception. “Dover has a rich history with the arts and is just as rich with talented contemporary artists,” he says. “A town chock-full of musicians, dancers, singers, muralists, photographers, and painters—this is an artist's paradise.”

Art Week partners include: Partnership for Maternal & Child Health of Northern New Jersey, Morris Arts, Dover Free Public Library, West Morris Capital, The Amp, and the Town of Dover.
