A special meeting was held Friday to introduce the first reading to resolve confusion from the Tuesday meeting.

A 15-minute special meeting on Friday resolved a sticky situation regarding job postings that arose during Tuesday evening’s Dover Town Council meeting.
The meeting was held after considerable confusion arose during the December 9 meeting regarding Dover municipal job postings, specifically the salary ranges for the positions. Council member Sandra Wittner questioned wide swings in raise percentages, prompting an extended discussion that ultimately led to the debate being tabled.
The agenda for today’s meeting included this:
F) ORDINANCES FOR FIRST READING:
Ordinance 49-2025 Revised Ordinance Establishing a Minimum and Maximum Range of Salary and Compensation for Certain Officers and Employees of the Town of Dover.
“I just want to be sure that our employees will get their 3 percent raises,” said Mayor Dodd.
Two items that were on the Ordinance for the December 9 meeting – the position of Public Safety Director and a 15 percent increase to the minimum of the Director of Recreation’s salary range – were removed from the revised Ordinance before the hastily scheduled meeting.
The next Council virtual meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30. It will be held via Zoom. Check back for more information from DOVERNOW.com.
