Superintendent Luis A. Jaime presides over the groundbreaking ceremony for the new sixth-grade annex construction.
Dover Public Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, December 8, to celebrate the start of construction on its new sixth-grade annex, officially named Dover Bridge Academy. The name, selected with input from students, symbolizes the “bridge” between elementary and middle school, giving sixth graders a dedicated space to learn and grow before entering Dover Middle School.
“This is a historic day for Dover,” said Superintendent Luis A. Jaime. “Dover Bridge Academy reflects our commitment to creating intentional, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for our students.”

The new building will help relieve space constraints across the district and provide expanded opportunities for academic programming aligned with Dover High School pathways. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-December; interested community members can CLICK HERE to see updates shared on the district website.
Dover Public Schools thanks the Board of Education, district leaders, and community partners for their support of this important project, which will benefit students for years to come.
