Mendez, Rugg, Almada, Santana record big victories to claim spots.

Dover will gain three new members and return one incumbent to the Town Council after an impressive voter turnout on Tuesday. Below are numbers are from Morris County Bureau of Elections.
FIRST WARD
Daniella Mendez, the former President of the Dover School Board, defeated incumbent Claudio Toro, whom Mendez defeated in the June 10 primary. Toro challenged Mendez in the general election as an Independent write-in candidate.

SECOND WARD
Judith Rugg, a former Council member who lost to incumbent Sergio Rodriguez – and then defeated him in the June 10 primary – beat Independent write-in candidate Hector Orama in the general election.

THIRD WARD
Chris Almada, who defeated incumbent Michael Scarneo in the June 10 primary, topped Republican candidate Maria Rosario in the general election.

FOURTH WARD
Incumbent Arturo B. Santana ran unopposed in the general election.

BOARD OF ED
Debora A. Acevedo(2,085 votes, 37.09 percent), Kimberly Philips(1,825 votes, 32.46 percent), and Helena Scates (1,615 votes, 28.73 percent) captured the three open Board of Ed seats.
