Authorities, reportedly from the New Jersey Attorney General's office, conducted a "criminal investigation" raid Monday morning at the West Blackwell Street offices of Toro Taxes, owned by former Dover Council member Claudia P. Toro.

A woman who answered the phone at Toro Taxes didn't confirm why the authorities were in the office.

The Office of New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin wasn't immediately available for comment.

A Dover Police Department official said the department was not involved in any aspect of Monday's activity.

This is a developing news story. We will continue to report on any new developments. Check back at DOVERNOW.com for more details.
